Where is the slave panel located?

Pilot house and bridge

A slave panel is a remote control interface that lets the bridge team operate and monitor essential ship systems from a central, watch-stood location. Placing it in the pilot house and bridge provides immediate access for officers on duty to control or isolate equipment without having to descend to the engine room, which is where the main controls for machinery are normally found.

The engine room holds the primary machinery controls and is deep in the ship’s machinery space, not a convenient location for the watch to manage systems during navigation or emergencies. The forward hold is a cargo space, not a control area, and the navigation room, while important for plotting and information, isn’t the typical place to house remote control panels for ship systems. So the slave panel is located in the pilot house and bridge to support quick, centralized control.
